This actual last recording was originally titled solely BILLIE HOLIDAY (some schools say it was M-G-M PRESENTS BILLIE HOLIDAY WITH RAY ELLIS AND HIS ORCHESTRA) and released on M-G-M records in It was later re-titled LAST RECORDINGS for posthumous reissue. All that said, there's something quite sad yet lovely about these tracks.

  4. Billie's voice wasn't what it had been but this album is superb because the voice is gone but expresses what she went through. This is the second last album she ever recorded and Ray Ellis backs her up. Most of her recordings were with small groups but Columbia gave her a full orchestra/5().
